Customer Service Representative
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

The Customer Support Specialist is the primary customer interface with SimAuthor’s customer base for service issues related to our products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive customer requests for technical and logistical support related to delivered products.
• Provide responses and solutions to customer inquiries by solving the issues individually when possible (preferred), and also by soliciting support from other resources within the company.
• Keep the customer informed of progress on open issues.
• Create and issue temporary and permanent software licenses for customers, SimAuthor staff, and designated third parties along with directions for their installation. Maintains records of all license deliverables, and tracks when new licenses are to be issued (by date or by new deliveries).
• Maintain a record of customer “maintenance” accounts.
• Maintain a log of all customer calls and emails received
• Perform functions related to shipping and receiving products, working with carriers to obtain the best financial and performance metrics.
• Update the customer data base when deliveries are made.
• Create CDs and DVDs of products along with their labels.
• Ship products and material to outside stakeholders as directed by programs, and informs management of those deliveries.
• Maintain the technical library.
• Provides product-testing assistance to the Software Quality Control section.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, EXCEL and Sales reporting software
• Technical competency sufficient to understand, operate, and test SimAuthor products.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Two-year degree (technical/business/communication) or equivalent.
• Three years of demonstrated customer support responsibility
• Three years minimum experience in an environment where independent action is required

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Four-year degree (technical/business/communication) or equivalent.
• Five years experience in a customer support position.

Sales Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

Summary:
We are seeking a Sales Engineer for our Boulder, CO facility. This position is a Sales Engineering position in direct support of the field sales team. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales Directors who own ultimate responsibility for the accounts in those territories, as well as identify and assist in development of new customers and new opportunities. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for assisting in responses to RFI’s RFP’s and RFQ’s. The Sales Engineer should be able to demonstrate the software, coordinate and oversee evaluation trials and successfully position and sell the overall value of the SimAuthor solution to the customer.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support Sales staff and Sales management to meet quota goals.
• Respond to technical issues, coordinating and overseeing resolution of problems.
• Provide Pre and Post Sales support by responding to RFP’s and delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, training and other sales support activities to generate, amplify and successfully capture customer interest.
• Prepare high quality, accurate and timely responses to communications received from customers in the field.
• Oversee post-sales activities including installation, familiarization, support, product shipment and delivery, and invoicing.
• Call on customers in order to answer questions, obtain forecasts, insure customer satisfaction and increase market share.
• Obtain technical expertise for all products supported.
• Develop engineering system plans and diagrams.
• Work primarily in structured assignments under direction of sales management.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to existing customers to provide technical training and to generate interest in new products.
• Provide post-sales support including installed application installations and product introductions, product migration support, field training, documentation and upgrades, and distribution of technical materials and software.
• Troubleshoot as necessary.
• Responsible or quality reporting and documentation on engineering methods and procedures, product customization, product functionality and feature development opportunities, and installed application utilization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Sales Ability, effective written/oral communication, ability to develop business relationships, strong presentation skills with strong PC literacy to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Eternal optimist.
• BS/BSE in engineering, computer science or other applied technical discipline.
• Familiarity with business metrics such as marginal return, ROI, P/L, etc.
• Travel 33% - 50%

 

Software Engineer
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

Summary:
The Software Engineer works as part of a team in the development of SimAuthor’s aviation-related software products. This position is based at SimAuthor’s facility in Boulder, CO.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, documenting, and testing software within a team atmosphere.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Possess a demonstrated ability to design, develop, document, and test software written in the C++/C# language using Microsoft Developer Studio
• Knowledge of object oriented design
• Knowledge of software development processes
• Proficient in automated testing (unit/integration/etc.)
• Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems
• US Citizen or Green Card holder
• BSCS, or 3+ years minimum relevant experience developing software
 
Computing Skills:
• Knowledge of at least one OO language (Preferably C++)
• Experience with Windows programming on 2K and XP
• .Net Framework 1.0-3.0
• Win32

Analytical Skills:
• Understanding of software life cycle process
• Numerical processing
 
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
• Working OpenGL or D3D knowledge
• Working GIS knowledge
• Working Network Communication (TCP, UDP, RS232, reflective memory)
• Working knowledge of avionic bus protocols (1553, 429, etc.)
• N-Tier or Client/Server experience
• Working knowledge of SQL and OLAP
